Uptime & Efficiency, the Twins
Inseparable since birth, these twins are essential to the function of the Data Centre and complement each other in achieving their goals. While maintaining uptime under all circumstances is the primary goal, this is only possible with the most efficient systems and processes in place. EDH achieves optimum efficiency through continuous analysis of site performance. Our indicators support the fine-tuning of our infrastructure, and in making the decision of when and how to implement new technologies.
Jean-Pierre Marzi, Chief Technology Officer
Data Centre infrastructure typically has a lifespan of some decades. During that time, technologies emerge that are considerably more efficient. The adoption of new technologies also drives an evolution in operating methods & procedures. EDH has implemented the ISO50001 standard as a framework in the optimization of existing infrastructure and in the integration of new energy saving technologies. While risk analysis is at the core of all operations, health and safety, environmental, and performance factors are also incorporated into the operations of the Data Centre. The Uptime Institute has audited us against the highest operating standard, and granted EDH the M&O accreditation.
